"Easy as Pie" Dutch Apple Pie

"Easy as Pie" Dutch Apple Pie

We have all heard the saying “easy as pie”, but I never knew it was actually true! This pie was so easy to make and it was absolutely delish! Your guests will think you were in the kitchen for hours preparing it, but it only took me 20 minutes to make!
The best thing about this recipe is it consists of simple ingredients. I had almost all of these ingredients in my pantry already.
Pie Filling
5 ½ cups of peeled diced apples (about 4-5 apples)
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
½ cup of granulated sugar
¼ cup of brown sugar
3 Tablespoons of flour
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

Step #1- Preheat oven to 375
Dice apples and put in large bowl.

Step #2- Measure out the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and flour.

Step # 3- Add flour and sugar mix to apples, then stir in the lemon juice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix together well.

Step # 4- Pour filling into your favorite homemade pie crust or a ready-made pie crust.
(I made it simple and used a pre-made crust, you can do whatever you would like)

Crumb Topping Ingredients

         3/4 cup of flour

         1/4 cup of granulated sugar

         1/4 cup of brown sugar

1/3 cup of butter (room temperature)

Step #5- With hands mix together sugars, flour, and butter until you have a crumb consistency.

Step # 6- Sprinkle crump topping evenly over the apples.
Bake at 375°F for 45 minutes

Ta-da! You did it! It was that simple!

The final step is to serve warm with vanilla ice cream! Enjoy!
